Many survivors find it helpful to talk to someone who is trained to listen and who understands the stress they are experiencing. Getting back to normal may take a long time and it is easier if you get some help. GaDuGi SafeCenter advocates and professional counselors can help you work through the trauma. It is normal for you to be experiencing emotional swings and a sense of unsteadiness—be kind to yourself and know that these feelings are okay. You have survived a serious trauma, and there is no timeline on your recovery. Talk to others about what has happened and how you are feeling.
